Thyroglossal cyst: - Cystic midline swelling (2-4 cm). - MC in young children. - Increases in size with upper respiratory tract infection and moves with tongue protrusion. Treatment: - Sistrunk operation: Complete surgical excision, including with it the body of the hyoid bone and core of tongue tissue around the tract in the suprahyoid tongue base to the foramen caecum.
