Tolerance is a potential problem with β2 agonists. So, β2 agonists should not be used on any regular schedule due to tolerance, bronchial hyperactivity not reduced on continuous use. It is advised that patients requiring regular medication should be treated with inhaled steroids and use of (β2 agonist inhaler should be restricted to symptomatic relief of an acute attack.
