Maggots are seen to infest nose, nasopharynx, and paranasal sinuses causing extensive destruction flies of genus Chrysemys, are attracted by the foul smelling discharge emanating from cases of atrophic rhinitis, syphilis, leprosy or infected wounds and lay eggs.
