Ans. is 'b' i.e., Prevent development of carrier Diphtheria toxoid (in DPT) prevents development of disease by inducing antibody formation against diphtheria toxin (exotoxin) which is responsible for disease. But, it does not prevent carrier state as antibodies are not produced against organism and it can reside in nasopharynx.
