(B) Dorsolumbar region # Tuberculosis of Spine: Spine is the most common site of bone/joint tuberculosis. Dorso-lumbar region being the one affected most frequently. It is always secondary Paradiscal is the commonest type Initially anterior part of body affected then posterior complex of vertebrae, i.e. pedicle, lamina, spinous process or transverse process are affected# Paradiscal: This is the commonest type.> In this, the contiguous areas of two adjacent vertebrae along with the intervening disc are affected.# Central: In this type, the body of the single vertebra is affected; This leads to the early collapse of the weakened verteb'a; The nearby disc may be normal; The collapse may be a 'wedging' or 'concertina' collapse> The former being commoner.# Anterior: In this type, the infection is localised to the anterior part of the vertebral body; The infection spread up and down under the anterior longitudinal ligament.# Posterior: In this type, the posterior complex of the vertebra i.e. the pedicle, lamina, spinous process or transverse process are affected.
