Treatment in central safe perforation (CSOM tubotympanic type): The aim is to control infection and eliminate ear discharge, so conservative management is preferred. And at later stage hearing loss is corrected by surgical means. Treatment Aural toilet Ear drops : Antibiotic ear drops containing neomycin, polymyxin, chloromycetin or gentamicin. Systemic antibiotics Precautions: keep water out of ear during bathing, swimming and hairwash. Treatment of contributory causes Surgical treatment: Aural polyp or regulations should be removed before local treatment with antibiotics.
