All are true about pulmonary contusion except:

Pulmonary Contusion Inadequate pain relief leads to hypoventilation, promotion of atelectasis & worsening hypoxemia. Lung contusions may be present on the initial chest radiograph but typically require time to become visualized (it can be missed) Diagnosis: IOC is CECT. Intubation should be reserved for classical indications only (it can result in Pneumonia).
