Co-prescription of serotonergic drugs with other serotonergic agents and especially MAOIs can lead to serotonin syndrome.it is characterised by classic triad of mental status changes,neuromuscular abnormalities and autonomic hyperactivity.these include anxiety, agitation, confusion, clonus, hyperreflexia, myoclonus, rigidity, increased hea rate, tremor, flushing, hypehermia and excessive sweating.
