Features of RNTCP A/E :

RNTCP is not included in NRHM. Under the RNTCP active case finding is not pursued. Case finding is passive. Dots agents are Teachers, anganwadi workers, dais, ex-patients, social workers etc. The RNTCP-Designated microscopy centers in each district are the peripheral laboratories. A Designated Microscopy Centre is established for approximately 100,000 population (50,000 in tribal and mountainous areas). Achievement of at least 85% cure rate is a salient feature of RNTCP.
