Hyperopia is a condition of misalignment of the eyes (strabismus), whereby the visual axis of one eye is higher than the fellow fixating eye. Can be seen in Superior oblique Palsy Inferior oblique overaction Compensatory head posture. It is adapted to avoid diplopia and confusion. Head is turned towards the direction of action of the paralysed muscle, e.g., if the right lateral rectus is paralysed, the patient will keep the head turned towards right.
