Cephalic index (C.I.) or Index of Breadth is used for determination of race. C.I. = Maximum breadth of skull/Maximum length of skull 100 Three types are seen, Caucasian, Mongolian, and Negro. The skull of an Indian is Caucasian with a few Negroid characters.
