Composting is method of combined refuse disposal and nightsoil or sludge. It is a process of nature whereby organic matter breaksdown under bacterial action resulting in formation of relatively stable humus like material, called compost.The principal byproducts are carbon dioxide,water and heat.This heat destroys the eggs and larvae of flies and pathogens.
