Baker Anchorage In most of the malocclusion cases, the upper teeth protruded excessively and the lower teeth and jaw seemed to be underdeveloped. Obviously, the mere expansion of the upper and lower arches would not achieve the desired correction. Some means had to be found to correct the protrusion of the upper teeth and the underdevelopment of the lower teeth and jaws. This was achieved by so-called Baker anchorage, a method of using intermaxillary rubber bands.
