- Shoer acting Benzodiazepines like Lorazepam/ Midazolam are preferred for treating Status epilepticus. - If there is no response, then phenytoin/ fosphenytoin, sodium valproate, Levetiracetam, Phenobarbitone can also be used - So a longer acting drug, Clonazepam is not used Management of status epilepticus: Stabilize airway, breathing, circulation Rule out hypoglycemia & hypocalcemia Then give: IV lorazepam or midazolam | seizure persisting Inj.
