This patient is having ethmoidal polyp (because polyps are multiple and bilateral) Main etiology of polyps is allergy. Medical treatment of polyps is the same as that for allergic rhinitis which consists of: Antihistaminics Steroids--helpful in patients who cannot tolerate antihistamine or have asthma along with polyps. It is also useful to prevent recurrence after surgery Decongestants such as epinephrine, phenylephrine, xylometazoline, etc. Antifungals (e.g. Amphotericin B) have no role in treatment of polyps.
