Exposure to asbestos can lead to the development if both pleural & pulmonary disease.Asbestos related benign plural plaques are characterised by extensive calcified pleural plaques(candle-wax appearance),paicularly marked on the diaphragm and lateral pleural surfaces, in a chest radiograph.It also shows poorly defined linear and reticular abnormalities in the lower lobes bilaterally.
