Following are the groups of hepatotoxic anesthetic agents: Group I: Drugs with well known hepatotoxic potential and containing chlorine or bromine, Eg: chloroform Group II: Drugs which contain fluorine Eg: halothane, methoxyflurane Desflurane, enflurane, sevoflurane, isoflurane, nitrous oxide and carbon tetrachloride are also linked with hepatotoxicity.
