Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP), also known as large loop excision of the transformation zone (LLETZ), uses electric current to generate waveforms through a metal electrode that either cuts or coagulates cervical tissues. LEEP is frequently used for treating CIN II and CIN III because of its ease of use, low cost, and provision of additional tissue for histologic evaluation.
