Test shown in the video is for Supraspinatus (C5,C6) Empty can test: This tests the strength of Supraspinatus . The patient is asked to raise his /her arms to a position of 90-degree abduction,30 degrees of forward flexion and internal rotation(thumbs pointing to the floor, as if emptying an imaginary can) The examiner stands behind the patient and applies downward pressure on both arms, with the patient resisting this force. The result is positive if the affected side is weaker than the unaffected side-tear of the supraspinatus tendon.
