This patient is showing features of somatic delusional disorder. In this type of disorder, patients have a fixed belief that they have some physical abnormality. They have belief about unusual conditions such as contamination with toxic substances, infestations of insects, foul body odors, malfunctions of specific body pas such as the liver or intestines. Types of delusional disorders are: Erotomanic type: Patients have delusions that another person, usually of higher status is in love with the individual. Grandiose type: Patients have delusions of inflated woh, power, knowledge, identity, or special relationship to a deity or famous person. Jealous type: Patients have delusions that the individual's sexual paner is unfaithful. Persecutory type Somatic type Mixed type Individual with hypochondriasis are preoccupied with fears of having a serious disease.
