It was initiated by the Govt.of India in The Ministry of Social and Women's Welfare in 1975.At present 5671 ICDS projects are sanctioned. One Anganwadi centre for 1000 persons in rural and urban areas, and one Anganwadi for 700 persons in tribal areas.Services delivered by ICDS are:1. Supplementary nutrition2. Immunization3.
