Besides the lesions of focal and segmental scarring, a variant of FSGS, collapsing glomerulopathy, has been described in HIV patients. It is a segmental or global glomerular collapse of the tuft along with the presence of hyperpasia and hyperophy of podocytes producing a pseudo-crescent and a rapid decline in renal function.
