Small joints of hand & feet and large joints like elbow, knee and ankle are involved. Women are affected 3 times more commonly than men. Older women (> 60 years) are 6 times more commonly involved than younger one. A positive RA factor in the absence of other features is not sufficient evidence for RA. Life expectancy is shortened 3-7 years. Hepatosplenomegaly is not seen except in Felty's syndrome, where RA is associated with splenomegaly.
