Postural kyphosis (Postural round back) and scheuermann's disease are the most common causes of kyphosis, paicularly in adolescents. Most common cause in older persons is osteoporosis. Other common causes are tuberculosis of the veebral bodies, ankylosing spondylitis, rickets, cancers and spina bifida.
