A chalazion or tarsal or meibomian cyst is a chronic non-infective granulomatous inflammation of the meibomian gland. Incision and curettage is the conventional and effective treatment for chalazion. The incision made should be veical on the conjuctival side (to avoid injury to other meibomian ducts) and horizontal on skin side (to have an invisible scar).
