Brain tumors in children Brain tumors are the second most common malignancy of childhood next only to leukemia. Brain tumors are the most common solid cancer of childhood. Over two-thirds of brain tumors are infratentoterial. Most of these tumor occur near the midline -> commonly obstruct CSF circulation and cause hydrocephalus early in disease.
