Dieulafoy&;s disease is

Dieulafoy&;s disease is a gastric aeriovenous malformation which is covered by apparently normal mucosa. It occurs in the proximal stomach near OG junction within 6 cm along the lesser curve in 80%.bleeding may occur and will be severe and torrential. Vasculitis is absent, angiography is done to confirm the disease, and to do therapeutic embolization using gel foam. Ref: SRB&; s manual of surgery,ed5, pg no 837
