carotid sinus baroreceptor is most sensitive to mean aerial pressure(MAP) Maximal baroreceptor sensitivity is seen near the normal MAP. Very Small changes in aerial pressure around this is normal MAP dramatically alters baroreceptor firing to ensure normal aerial pressure is maintained.
