Dorsal nucleus of the Xth cranial nerve is not a special Visceral Efferent Nuclei. The Dorsal vagal Motor nucleus is a &;General Visceral Efferent&; Nuclei that represents the origin of the preganglionic, parasympathetic fibers of the vagus nerve. Special Visceral Efferent Nuclei : (These nuclei supply striated muscles derived from the brachial arches) Neurons in the SVE nuclei in the brainstem are associated with the trigeminal(V), facial(VII), glossopharyngeal(IX), vagus(X), and cranial poion of the accessory (XI) nerves. The SVE nucleus associated with the vagus nerves glossopharyngeal and is the nucleus ambiguous.
