Coicosteroids can result in hyperglycemia and thus may vitigate the control of blood glucose in diabetics. Due to retention of Na+ and water, coicosteroids can worsen the hypeension. By inhibiting the production of gastroprotective prostaglandins, coicosteroids increase the risk of peptic ulcer disease.
