The cranial nerves traversing the cavernous sinus are oculomotor, trochlear, abducens and ophthalmic division of the trigeminal nerve together with trigeminal ganglion. Cavernous sinuses are seen on either side of the sella turcica. They receive drainage from ophthalmic and facial veins and blood leaves the cavernous sinuses the petrosal sinuses. Ref: Waxman S.G.
