Pathogens associated with UTI most commonly in pregnancy are most commonly E coli, along with Klebsiella, proteus, enterobacter, staphylococcus saprophyticus. Since Asymptomatic bacteriuria is associated with Preterm delivery and low bih weight, then treatment is prudent choice with drugs like Nitrofurantoin, Trimethoprim (after 12 weeks), Cephalosporins like Cephalexin or penicillin like ampicillin.
