Trilene is degraded by:

* Trilene or trichloroethylene is a good analgesic, less depressant, and non-flammable. * Cardiac dysrhythmia, or tachypnoea may occur during administration. * It should not be used in the closed circuit as it reacts with soda-lime to produce a toxic gas(phosgene). * Recovery is slow and nausea as well as vomiting may be present. * It should not be used with adrenaline infiltration lest dysrhythmia be conveed to ventricular fibrillation. Degradation: * Brought about by enzymatic degradation * The enzyme that stas one branch of this pathway, toluene 1,2-dioxygenase, has many other catalytic abilities, which are documented in a table of the Reactions of Toluene 1,2-Dioxygenase. * The spontaneous degradation of trichloroethylene epoxide can produce as many as four products: dichloroacetate, carbon monoxide, glyoxylate, and formate.
