Ans. is 'a' i.e., Volar fracture of distal end radius Baon's fracture The true Baon's injury is a volar fracture of the distal radius associated with volar subluxation of the carpus. o It is sometimes mistaken for a Smith's fracture, but it differs from the latter in that the fracture line runs obliquely across the volar lip of the radius into the wrist joint; the distal fragment is displaced anteriorly, carrying the carpus with it. Because the fragment is small and unsuppoed, the fracture is inherently unstable. Treatment: The fracture can be easily reduced, but it is just as easily re-displaced. Internal fixation, using a small anterior buttress plate, is recommended.
