Amifostine:- It is an organic thiophosphate which on activation by alkaline phosphatase acts as a cytoprotective against cancer chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Uses:- It is paicularly used for prophylaxis of cisplatin induced neuro/nephrotoxicity, and radiotherapy related xerostomia.
