Reflex response (bronchospasm, laryngospasm, ↑ BP, ↑ HR) can be blunted by:- adequate depth of anaesthesia, opioids (Fentanyl, sufentanil), IV lignocaine, Local xylocaine spray, β-blocker (esmolol), Calcium channel blocker (e.g. diltiazem).
