Papillitis vs retrobulbar neuritis Papillitis and retrobulbar neuritis have almost same clinical features except : i) Painful ocular movement is more common in retrobulbar neuritis than papillis ii) Fundus is normal in retrobulbar neuritis while papillitis has characteristic fundus abnormalities.
