High-Yield Explanation
Implant Radiography Implant radiography, used extensively by Bjork and co-workers, is one of the techniques that can also be used in human subjects. Herein, inert metal pins (generally made of titanium) are inserted anywhere in the bony skeleton including face and jaws. These pins are biocompatible. Superimposing radiographs (cephalograms in case of face) on the implants allow precise observation of both changes in the position of one bone relative to another and changes in external contour of the individual bone.
