Oesophageal Cancers: - are notorious for their aggressive biological behavior, it infiltrates locally, involves adjacent lymph nodes and metastasizes widely by hematogenous spread, Lack of an esophageal serosal layer tends to our local tumor extension. So it would be very useful if we catch this tumor early by mucosal rescetion. Because dysphagia is the presenting complaint in 80 to 90% of pts with esophageal cancer, any adult who complain of progressive dysphagia warrant an esophagoscopy and brush cytology and biopsy taken. The accuracy of brush cytology and biopsy is 97%.
