Perichondritis of thyroid cartilage in a patient of Ca larynx suggests invasion of thyroid cartilage i.e. stage T4. Stage T4 lesions glottic cancer earlier were managed by total laryngectomy with neck dissection for clinically positive nodes and post operative radiotherapy if nodes are not palpable. These days chemoradiation is preferred.
