Hot air oven is the most widely used method of sterilisation by dry heat. It is the preferred method for sterilizing glassware. It is ued to sterilize glassware, glass syringe, forceps, scissors, scalpel, swabs, paraffin etc. Glasswares should be perfectly dry before placing into the oven. 2% gluteraldehyde is used to sterilize thermometer, cystoscope, bronchoscope, centrifuges and anaesthetic equipments.
