The most common withdrawal syndrome with alcohol is a hangover on the next morning.In patients suffering from (or likely to suffer from) delirium tremens, peripheral neuropathy, WernickeKorsakoff syndrome, and/or with other signs of vitamin B deficiency (especially thiamine and nicotinic acid), a preparation of vitamin B containing 100 mg of thiamine (vitamin B1) should be administered parenterally, twice everyday for 3-5 days.
