Important symptoms of schizophrenia Delusions :- of persecution, of control (thought insertion, thought withdrawal, thought broadcasting), of grandeur, of reference, of infidility. Formal thought disorders :- Neologism, loosening of association. Hallucinations :- Most common auditory hallucinations. Third person hallucinations are characteristics. Affect disturbances :- inappropriate affect, emotional blunting, apathy, anhedonia, ambivalence. Psychomotor disturbances :- Increased psychomotor activity (excitment, restlessness, agitation, violence) or decreased activity (mutism, rigidity, catatonia, etc). Passivity phenomenon :- Made feeling, made impulses, mode volition, somatic passivity. Decreased function in work, social relations (social withdrawal), lack of self care, and decreased interest in activities of all areas of life (occupation, sex, etc). Depression and suicidal tendency. There is no disturbance of consciousness, orientation, attention, memory and intelligence.
