Contraception of choice in diabetic patient ?

Ans. is 'b' i.e., Barrier method o In a diabetic patient, barrier method of contraceptive is ideal for spacing of bihs. o Low dose combined oral pills containing 3rd generation progestins are effective & have got minimal effect on carbohydrate metabolism. Main worry is their effect on vascular disease. Progestin only pill is a suitable alternative. o IUCD increases the incidence of pelvic infection. Permanent sterilization should be seriously considered following second live bih, under local anaesthesia in the puerperium.
